Become a Mentor

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young men in Douglas and Cobb County, Georgia? The STEEL Mentoring Program for Boys invites you to join our community of mentors dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders. By becoming a mentor, you will guide young males aged 10-19 as they navigate challenges, achieve academic success, and unlock their full potential.

As a Mentor, You Will:

1. Attend a mandatory orientation session and required mentor training classes that will prepare you with ideas, activities, and the skills needed to be an effective mentor.
2. Participate in scheduled mentor meetings and ongoing training sessions to stay engaged and informed.
3. Consent to a mid-year and final evaluation conducted by the program coordinator to ensure continuous improvement and support.
4. Follow all school and agency policies, rules, and procedures to create a safe and respectful environment for our mentees.
5. Maintain a professional demeanor at all times, serving as a positive role model for the young men in our program.

By agreeing to these terms, you confirm that you have no history of criminal activity and grant the program permission to conduct background checks with the appropriate authorities, if necessary.
